SCREW

A screw is an inclined plane wrapped around a cylinder. Instead of pushing straight forward, you turn the screw, and each rotation moves it forward a small distance. This allows a large amount of force to be applied slowly and precisely.

Screws are used when things need to stay tight, secure, and controlled. They trade speed for strength — many small turns create powerful holding force. This is why screws are used in construction, machines, and even jar lids.

Memory trick: Turning goes around, movement goes forward.
